Nuno Felt Vest

My Sister and I made this Nuno Felt Long Vest. We used Tussah Silk, 22 micron Merino fleece and Silk Georgette. It's been made all in one piece and slip stitched together under the arms. The creamy coloured Tussah silk has been used in a thin criss cross pattern all over the vest.

That is so nice. I love nuno felting - it's so much fun to create a new piece of fabric!

Best regards,
Susan

I love your nuno felted vest its lovely. I am new to nuno felting and have just made the fabric now to make a purse with it. I love felt of all kinds and I am a needle felting artist and I also enjoy making items from recycled wool sweaters. I think I am going to enjoy Nuno felting even though its hard on the shoulders, I'm sure I will get used to it.

What is felting?

"FELT" The Essential Macquarie Dictionary meaning:

"A non woven fabric of wool, fur or hair matted together by pressure"

Fibres can be manipulated with the use of soap, water, friction and heat variations ..........or the use of barbed needles to create many interesting, practical and wearable things.
